Sonya Hatfield Hall

"Three paths came together in 1991, forming one road. A road I knew I must take. Since then, I have been traveling the Storytelling Highway."

After joining the West Virginia Storytelling Guild, Sonya appeared in the mini concerts series hosted by the Guild, which included the Appalachian Studies Conference and The Vandalia Gathering.

Sonya has spun yarns at the 2000 and 2001 Corridor G Tourism Conferences, the Hatfield-McCoy 2000 and 2001 Reunion Festivals, West Virginia Saturday Night, the West Virginia State Storytelling Festival, the Shawnee Living History Trail, and the King Coal Festival as well as the for various groups, organizations, fairs, festivals, elementary and middle schools throughout the Tug Valley area.

Her repertoire includes fairytales, fables, and folktales from around the world, original stories, ghost stories, and family history.

Sonya was a featured emcee at the 2001 WV Storytelling Festival. She also served as hostess for the Story Swapping Tent at the festival.
